All the great fruits, vegetables, pulses, grains, legumes, spices, sauces out there and all they can say is Meat Meat repeat propaganda Meat Meat…
I think I may have struck a nerve with a few meaters out there…
Devil man, what is so great about killing an animal? You think you are tough, but you aren’t. You hate people like me who call you out on your stupidity and cowardness because it makes you realize how small you are.
and yes, pulses are legumes, you are right.
Brett, instead of rambling about how much you hate vegans and vegetarians, how about you just answer the question?
Anybody reading this should know that I know at lesast as well as the next guy what meat tastes like. I used to eat meat, for 24 years. Whenever you say you love meat all you are doing is admitting to an addiction without realizing it. Maybe its all the crazy chemicals and hormones in your food…I don’t know…I imagine they have some effect whatever the case. You should all do yourselves a favor and educate yourselves on this topic. I wouldn’t really take your word in conversation if I felt like you thought you knew food (any kind) better than me. Of course you could be a chef, but I cook a lot more than most. Peace, and stop letting other people think and speak for you.
Hmm, another angry vegan/vegetarian. Maybe that’s a sign that you need some more of the fat soluble vitamins in your diet that are so well supplied by animal products.
Is that all you are about – “striking a nerve?” Or do you actually hope to win hearts and minds by behaving like an asshole? It would certainly do more for the cause if you’d be just a tad more sympathetic and offer some useful advice or at least some interesting information. We’ve certainly got our share of vegan propaganda with the likes of VegSource.com and The China Study, eh?
I must thank you, however, since the next time I see a new vegetarian trying to cope with their lifestyle and wondering why they are experiencing hostility or ridicule, I’ll link this “question (and I use that term very loosely)” so they can see why so many people might get the wrong impression.
I think they are weak people who cant understand how some people can be so strong and become a vegetarian and not want to eat meat anymore. So out of jelousy they preach about how good meat is, probably to try and convince themselves they are good! I dont understand how people cant see the cruelty in the meat industry.
I eat my steaks rare. when i order lol i say bloody…. mmmm cow blood is delish. how could you not eat meat. People have always eaten it. dont get me wrong i eat fruits, veggies, and spices. those were all around when people solely servived on way back when. get real
I think it’s sad is how many vegetarians are self-righteous and call people who eat meat “narrow-minded”, “sad” or “ignorant.” Stop being so arrogant. Your opinion on a subject is just an opinion, and just like assholes, everyone has one. Get over yourself.
Meat is delicious, in my opinion.
I’ve grown up eating meat my whole life, and I’m not going to stop.
I mean, I respect vegetarians and vegans and such,
but I would never become one.
I <3 meat.
Because meat is so easy to get, there has always been high demand for meat, back in the day meat was expensive and considered a delicacy that only the wealthy could afford to eat regularly, but with recent advancements in technology and pharmaceuticals, meat can be grown with very little time and money, therefore meat becomes an easy sell. Its just another example of the “gimme gimme gimme” attitude and idiotic tv culture that fat, ignorant people conform themselves to.
We are meat eaters. For thousands and thousands of years humans have eaten meat? Why stop now? Anyway, some people just can’t afford fancy spices, or many of the yummy fruits and veggies out there. Half the time meat is the only thing the can afford-from the store or by hunting. So stop judging people, okay?
Well, it all has be balanced. I mean you need some meat sometimes, and vegetables and fruits. But i don’t think that eating meat everyday is good.
Your question isn’t asked in the clearest way. Now I love meat, I think it’s fantastic, but I’m a rationally intelligent person and I harbor no illusions that it’s the best food for me. It’s not the worst for me either. It’s just a part of my entire overall diet. And a nice fillet is better for me than a donut (made from grains) or mayonnaise (a sauce).
i think this everyday. have you ever looked at the tele and just thought about how flippin insane it is with all the meat oriented commercials? people think that i am a “crazy vegetarian”, but i think theyre the crazy ones lol
Well its not terrible (regarding health) as long as its not 1) red meat 2) eaten in excess 3) antibiotics/toxins in it
But most meat eaters I know eat meat with almost every meal, and thats where I think the problem comes in
and I could say the same thing about almost every industry…. soy soy propaganda soy, thats not specific to the meat industry
Meat does provide essential nutrients, but those essential nutrients can be obtained from other sources, and B12 is the only one I know of that can’t be obtained through natural foods (veggies grains etcetera). Just because you deny meat doesn’t mean you deny essential nutrients.
A pulse is a legume. People do eat far too MUCH meat, however, the general idea is that 4 ounces of meat a day is best. Getting sufficient quantities of quality protein – b vitamins – fats by eating NO meat is virtually impossible. I would estimate that people eat 3 times as much meat as they should though.
My advice to improve people’s diets is to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and that will result in less of an appetite for meat.
I enjoy a mouthwatering marinated chicken breast baked with gravy, peppers, tomatoes, garlic, etc, just as much as I enjoy a juicy apple or sweet runny corn on the cob. You can’t survive on meat alone, so it’s definitely not the best food for you, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone should forego it. If you’ve made a lifestyle choice to not eat meat, then that’s fine, I respect you for living up to your values, but I wouldn’t go around calling the choices of others “sad.”
How is it that vegetarians (vegans especially) can go through life denying themselves many of the essential nutrients that are obtained through meat, not vegetables?
There’s nothing wrong with meat. Humans are omnivores, so NOT eating meat at all is certainly not the healthiest choice.
After seeing the first 10-11 answers I would say misinformation or plain stupidity…which I’m sort of blown away by.
How can someone say that meat is terrible and that they are going to stop eating it?
The human body needs nutrition from all of those food groups in order to function healthily, sure you can substitute for just about all of them but what’s wrong with just eating meat?
I LOVE MEAT!!! I LOVE STEAK. I LOVE FRIED CHICKEN. I LOVE BURGERS. I LOVE MEAT CHILI. I LOVE HOT DOGS. I LOVE PRIME RIB. I LOVE GRILLED CHICKEN. I LOVE CHICKEN PARMESAN. I LOVE FISH. I LOVE CRAB LEGS. I LOVE CHICKEN CORDON BLEU. I LOVE PORK CHOPS. I LOVE MEAT!
Meat is also very nutritious although you should avoid eating red meat.
Try fish and various types of poultry.
Have you ever had a Six Dollar Guacamole burger from Carl’s Jr? Have you?
BUT ITS F***IN DELICIOUS!
idc if its bad for me
seeing what some people eat i dont think they care either
why not eat whats delicious?
thats your opinion
people that eat meat too much and people that drink too much chocolate milk… Same thing to me, just plain strife.
Humans have always eaten meat. What is so wrong with that?
Because meat is better than vegetables its a mans meal and if ur a vegitarian ur a pussy
yummmmm chicken NUGGETS
i like vegetables and stuff but i gotta say meat makes my day!! lmao
